Doing Our Bit As A National Business With Cornish Roots

We may be a national business but our roots are in Cornwall. We take pride in being a part of the local community, from the stunning coastline to the quaint towns and villages, Cornwall is a truly special place to call home. We feel fortunate to be able to operate our business in such a beautiful part of the world which is why we decided to join forces with Beach Guardian, Age UK and The Isles of Scilly to do our part and help keep our local beaches clean.

Living next to the ocean, we see first-hand our effect on the environment which is why our sustainability policy is a huge part of our ethos here at Datasharp. If you haven’t already, check out our full policy here and see the lengths we go to help the environment. You can also see our list of future plans, one of which was to get more involved in local charities. We’ve been passionate about doing charity work whether it’s raising money for Macmillan Coffee Morning, participating in Pretty Mudder runs or supporting local charities with their business solutions but we’ve had our sights on doing a beach clean for a while now and it feels closer to the kind of work we want to do in the future (working with local charities tackling local issues.)

Beach Guardian was our number one choice for a collaboration as not only did they have years of experience across multiple beaches in Cornwall but their knowledge of microplastics and battling pollution ensured us that our event would be as effective as possible. On the 16th of September at 11:00am we will be tackling Porthpean Beach as our first beach clean.  If you would like to take the part the event information is here. We hope to be doing many more in the future so this won’t be your only chance to get involved.

We’ve been providing telephony, IT support, photocopiers and connectivity solutions to Cornwall for over forty years. We feel privileged to be a part of this community, and we look forward to continuing to serve our customers and support our fellow local businesses for many years to come.
